Airport Help
Airport
help from Jason - here are a few other points that may help you if you are
being screwed over by an airline. If an airline can't take you to your destination
and it's their fault, simply mention Rule 240. Not many people know about this
but I do. It is a common policy that ensures airlines pay for your flight with
another carrior if they can't get you there themselves. If you
get bumped against your will and you arrive one to two hours late, you can get
up to $200 compliments of the Department of Transportation. It is calculated as
part of the ONE way fare. If your flight is cancelled altogether don't crowd up
at the gate agent like everybody else, go around them and straight to one of your
airline's other gates. ANY agent with the same airline can confirm your new
reservation not just the one at the gate you got bumped from because they all
use the same computer systems. If you don't fly red eye which is in the middle
of the night be early. Any flight leaving between 5:45 am and 7:15 am is statiscally
89% on-time. Whereas the later in the day the more flights get changed, bumped,
pushed back, rescheduled, delayed and even cancelled. Never get a flight between
7:45 and 9:15 if you can help it because these flights tend to be late nearly
60% of the time and things get worse from there if you have to change planes. Pay
attention to the special deals airlines try to offer you when you aren't paying
attention. They will often offer you free "space available" ticket if
you give up your seat on an overbooked flight. Just what is this ticket exactly?
Well it's a "glorified stand by" ticket. Instead, DEMAND a confirmed
round-trip ticket that guarantees you an actual seat on an actual future flight
OR time frame you know you will want to fly in. Remember the ariline depreciates
by about 25-35% the value of whatever you claim is lost when they lose your
baggage. So inflate the value to offset this or you could end up ripped and
broke. For other advice and airline help visit all our airline
