Aladdin Hotel In Las Vegas
Aladdin
Hotel in Las Vegas has just had a face lift. The Sheraton Resort purchased the
Aladdin in 2003 and the renovations that started in 2006 are finally complete. It's
new name is Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. The look is now more glitzy to match
the Hollywood style. The renovations were done section by section, so even
though many changes were going on, the hotel was up and running as usual. It's amazing
really how quickly Vegas casinos can remake themselves. You don't even hear any jackhammers
and in a very short time frame, it's all done. The new Aladdin Hotel in Las
Vegas certainly looks different from the days of Elvis and Priscilla's wedding there
in 1967. One complaint visitors had with the old Aladdin was that the entrance just
wasn't apparent, so they would just walk on by and end up in the Paris. Planet Hollywood
fixed that. There's a brand new sign out front in bright lights flashing the word
Entrance. Instead of the Arabic look, Planet Hollywood remodeled the gaming
area and the upstairs Mezzanine to look more modern and upscale. The ceiling downstairs
has 8 new chandeliers with hand-crafted crystals and they chose black granite for
a very sleek floor. If you look around and stay in the gaming area you'll notice that
the walls and the chandeliers slowly change colors. The new remodeling is definitely
dazzling but somehow, I still get lost in the casino. When you go to the check-in
desk you'll notice it has a touch of Hollywood too. The walls are lined with bands
of LED lights and they slowly change neon colors from blue, red, purple and green.
The 2,500 plus rooms only received a slight make-over. They still have the
marble bathrooms and the big soaking tubs to lounge around in for hours. Realize that
if you want to connnect to the Internet from your room, there is a charge. Make sure
to ask at the front desk what the current charges are. Considering all the
renovations, the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas still managed to keep it's prices very
competitive. Rooms can start at $89. That's a great deal considering the location
of the casino. It's in the heart of the Strip across the boulevard from the Bellagio.
For a few more dollars you can get a room with a view of the Strip and the Vegas nightlife. If
you're the type that only wakes up after that first cup of coffee, you're going to
have to order room service or go downstairs to the 24 hour Starbucks. The rooms are
not furnished with coffee makers. The towels are a little rough too. For an inexpensive
place to stay, make sure you try the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.
